In the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, the athlete became an international sensation by scoring the very first perfect 10 in asymmetric bars. To add to that her score, she was able to rack up another six perfect 10s which made her the youngest Olympic gold medalist. She was only 14 years old. Not only did she draw interest, she also assisted in helping Romania gain a global presence. She gained international fame when she scored an unimaginable score. She created a legend as well as helped make gymnastics a popular sport across the world. Additionally, it altered gender perception of women in the sport. Her impact was so significant during this Olympics that even the uneven bar sport has two moves named after her - toe-on and release move, which have been considered to be at an extremely difficult and level. Also, she performed very well in World Championships, European Championships and Olympics. That led to her becoming a legend and she's one of the most famous gymnasts in the world.
